Capabilities
The members of the LMUSAR team have trained and prepared for over two years
to get a deployable team ready for action, if we are needed locally, regionally
or for State wide response.
- What is LMUSAR
- LMUSAR is a
multi-agency technical rescue team, primarily tasked with USAR (urban
search & rescue) response. LMUSAR is capable of: Confined
Space Rescue, High/Low Angle Rescue,
Structural Collapse Rescue, Trench Rescue
- Team Make-up
- LMUSAR is made up of
Emergency Responders from Louisville Metro/Jefferson County and the
surrounding counties. This includes personnel from Fire, Law Enforcement,
EMS, and Emergency Management agencies. Participating agencies include:
Louisville Fire,
Jefferson County Fire Districts: Anchorage, Buechel, Camp Taylor, Fairdale,
Harrods Creek, Highview, Jeffersontown, Lyndon, Middletown, Okolona, St.
Matthews, and Worthington, Louisville MetroSafe Communications, Louisville
Metro EMA, North Oldham County Fire, Shelby County EMS, Shelbyville Fire,
South Oldham County Fire.
